Xie's Historical Residence didn't exit in Tang Dynasty. Until 1997, the Qinhuai District Government had rebuilt the group of the architectures .
    There are more than 500 years from Tang Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasties. Although Lai Yan Hall doesn't exit,many explorers came here to visit the scenery and to remenber those people in history.During the period of the Emperor of Qianlong, Wu Jingzi, a writer and a poem, wrote《The Jinling scence Poets with picture 》. Beacause of these poets, Nanjing forty scences became forty-eight ones. In the forty-eight scences, Lai Yan Hall is the twenty-eighth scence.
