Zhanyuan was formerly the West Garden of Xu Da, |
| Zhongshanwang of Ming Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty once stayed here during his tour to the area south of the Changjiang River and inscribed "zhanwangyutang", hence the name. |
